The Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen3 is a compact smart plug designed to withstand outdoor conditions. It communicates via Wi-Fi and can be paired quickly using Bluetooth connectivity, also serving as a gateway for BLU devices. With Matter support and integrated power measurement capabilities, it’s perfect for tracking energy consumption at endpoints.

Control and monitor any electrical device plugged into a socket in your home, even outdoors. It can switch devices up to 2500 W and offers customizable LED indicator lights. The built-in Matter compatibility ensures smooth integration with any Matter-supported smart home system.

Scheduling Options:

• Set up to 50 on/off schedules for different days of the week with Gen3 devices.
• Supports sunrise and sunset-based scheduling (including offsets like “sunset + 30 minutes”).
• Includes auto-off and auto-on timers, allowing devices to turn on or off automatically after a specified duration.

Supported Modes:

• Cloud Mode: Connects to the free Shelly Cloud platform, enabling control via the Shelly Cloud smartphone app (available for iOS and Android) or through https://home.shelly.cloud/.
• LAN Mode: Devices operate exclusively on the local network without relying on cloud services.
• Local Smart Home Integration: Supports REST API and MQTT integration with local smart home hubs.
• Wi-Fi Access Point Mode: When no permanent Wi-Fi network is available, the plug can broadcast its own Wi-Fi AC network, allowing control from a smartphone or laptop within its range.

Matter Compatibility:

The new Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen3 supports the Matter smart home standard. This enables the plug to integrate seamlessly with not only Shelly Cloud and local modes but also with other Matter-compatible ecosystems, such as Apple HomeKit, SmartThings, and more.

In cloud mode, power consumption data is saved to the Shelly Cloud account, where users can view and download consumption history via the app.

With Shelly Cloud’s Scene functionality, Shelly devices can control each other based on complex conditions. For example, a Shelly relay behind a light switch can turn on or off another Shelly relay plugged into a socket, enabling wireless control between devices through Wi-Fi and Shelly Cloud.

Alternatively, with fixed IP addresses, Shelly devices can communicate directly via HTTP commands (Direct Device-to-Device mode) without an internet connection. This ensures device control remains functional even during internet outages or if firewall restrictions block cloud access.

Shelly offers a free proprietary smartphone app and Cloud service for smart control.
