SONOFF Fusion Series Orb-MW1 – Matter Over WiFi Smart Wall Switch

The SONOFF Orb-MW1 is the Fusion series Matter over Wi-Fi smart wall switch that augments a traditional wall switch with modern, multi-platform control. Operation is handled by a well-known module, the Sonoff Mini Extreme R4 Matter, which can be easily replaced in case of failure. Thanks to Matter compatibility, a single device can be integrated into Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and other systems, enabling unified, brand-agnostic automation.Detach Relay mode ensures that “smart” light sources do not lose power and connectivity even when the wall switch is turned off — so the light remains controllable via automations or voice. In case of an internet outage, local (LAN) control and the physical switch ensure continuous usability.The Orb-MW1 is a single-circuit (1-gang) model, operates from a 100–240 V~ mains supply, and has a rated load of 10 A (≈2400 W @ 240 V). A neutral wire is required for installation. It is an ideal choice for smartening existing lighting circuits, with fast, practically plug-and-play setup.

Similar to the Sonoff Mini R4, the compact Mini R4M Wi-Fi module also features a potential-free (dry contact) switch input, making it suitable for smart retrofits when installed behind traditional wall switches in the wall box. It can work with momentary (push-button) and two-position switches, and it can be wired for two-way (staircase/three-way) switching. (A potential-free PIR motion sensor or other sensor can also be connected to its switch input.)

Among Sonoff relays for the first time, its switch input can be software-decoupled from the output, so the use of the hard-wired wall switch connected to the module can even be disabled. However, for a switch decoupled from the output you can set up a smart control/scene, allowing you to control other smart devices with it.
