The SMLIGHT SLZB-MR1U is a modular, multi-protocol LAN adapter that enables centralized control of Zigbee, Thread and even Z-Wave systems (via a USB dongle) from a single Ethernet-connected device. With the built-in USB passthrough over TCP/IP function, a connected USB dongle (e.g., Z-Wave or other USB-UART device) is exposed on the network as a remote serial port — as if it were plugged directly into your server.

The MR1U offers PoE-capable Ethernet, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, USB-C power and a USB-A host port. It uses a TI CC2652P radio as a Zigbee coordinator and an EFR32MG21 radio as a Thread Border Router, while an ESP32 handles networking and management. It is an ideal choice for Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT and advanced, future-proof installations.

  • Silicon Labs EFR32MG21: Zigbee 3.0 support (Zigbee2MQTT & ZHA compatible); Thread (Matter-over-Thread) support (OpenThread Border Router); ideal for Thread networks, also works great with Zigbee; +20 dBm TX power; 96 kB RAM, 1024 kB Flash.

  • SLZB-OS features: VPN, 20+ languages, scripts, network settings, security, dashboard, zHub mode, mode switcher, OTA firmware updates, etc.

  • Dual external antenna SMA female connectors (one per radio SoC).
  • PCB antenna for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • Includes 2 × high-gain 2.4 GHz antennas.

Power supply:

  • PoE powered, 48 V PoE supported.
  • Powered via USB-C (5 V DC).
  • Low power consumption up to ~1.5 W (with both radio SoCs running).
  • Caution: Do not power via Type-C and PoE at the same time. Use only one power source.

Enclosure:

  • Compact, durable ABS case with ventilation.
  • DIN-rail and wall-mount compatible (3D models available).
  • Easy sticking with double-sided adhesive tapes.
  • Easy screw mounting; package may include screws, screwdriver, ruler.

LED indicators and peripherals:

  • Independent status LEDs for each radio (6 service LEDs total: 2 × Core SoC, 2 × CC2652P SoC, 2 × EFR32 SoC).
  • Multi-button: supports multiple functions (mode switch, reset, etc.).
