Nous E8 Tuya Zigbee wireless smart smoke sensor

The Nous E8 smart smoke detector is a tiny wireless smart home sensor that supports the Tuya Zigbee protocol and communicates with the network via a Tuya Zigbee gateway.

It is compatible with Tuya / SmartLife Zigbee gateways, communicating through them to the Tuya cloud and we can control other Wi-Fi or Zigbee Tuya compatible devices based on its alarm, or send an alarm to our phone in Tuya / Nous app.

What is the Tuya / SmartLife smart home platform and app?

Tuya is a popular cloud-based smartwatch platform that provides integrated solutions for various smartwatch tools and applications. The platform enables quick and easy pairing, remote control and management of devices through a single APP interface. Tuya, also known as SmartLife, provides users with a comprehensive smart home ecosystem, including devices from a wide range of manufacturers.

It supports voice control, remote access and automated processes (reports). The Tuya platform also has cloud-side integration with a range of other smart home ecosystems, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings, so Tuya devices can be used on these platforms. Tuya, like its global platform eWeLink, is also a cloud-based system, but the quality of available Tuya devices varies more widely.

In the Tuya offering, European Nous is a Tuya device vendor offering a good quality. Its tools can be used with Nous app or with the standard Tuya / SmartLife app.

The tool can be used with Nous' own Nous APP as well as with the Tuya app, in the latter case, experience has shown that more functionality is available.

The sensor is a sensor recommended for the Tuya smart home system and works basically in cloud mode. However, for Tuya Zigbee gateways, which can cache and run automations locally without an internet connection, the automations can also operate without an internet connection.

Tuya Zigbee gateway supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and (for iOS phones) Siri voice control.
