The Aqara Hub M100 is the latest version of Aqara's entry-level compact smart home hub, replacing the previous Aqara E1 Hub in the product lineup. Like its predecessor, it is a Plug & Play model that only requires a USB-A power supply (e.g., a phone charger) or a USB wall socket for operation. Similar to its predecessor, it can be folded at a 210-degree angle, allowing discreet placement flush to the wall, regardless of outlet type.

However, the Aqara Hub M100 supports not only the Zigbee 3.0 protocol but also the Matter-compatible Thread protocol, allowing Aqara’s Thread devices to be paired with it. As a Matter-compatible hub, it also introduces new features on the Wi-Fi side by supporting Wi-Fi 6. With an enhanced antenna and expanded memory, this model can be easily placed anywhere in your home where a power socket or USB-A wall outlet is available. It supports connecting Zigbee and Thread protocol devices and functions as both a Matter controller and a Thread border router. Zigbee devices can also be connected to third-party Matter ecosystems using the Matter bridge functionality.
